Energy Online is a distance-based educational program that offers the possibility to obtain a Master of Science equivalent degree in Energy Systems entirely off-campus. All courses can be followed online. In certain cases traditional exams are used where the students are supposed to find a proctor at their location in order to sit the exams.
Energy Online is offered in joint cooperation among three Swedish universities. The official language throughout the studies is English. There are no restrictions related to geographical location, gender, religion, or age.
The study program is structured in such a way that it can provide, after successful completion of all courses, a relevant Master degree. Proper engineering background is required in order to get admitted, see under Eligibility.
The following partner universities participate in the program and some of them can also issue a final degree:
University of Gävle (HiG): MSc Energy Systems 60 credits
Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)
Uppsala University (UU)
Energy Online combines courses in Energy Systems offered within the established international Master-level study programs at each of the participating universities. Energy Online enables the students to aquire or enhance their knowledge in the field of sustainable energy engineering, provides a good overview of today's and tomorrow's energy realities and sustainable energy solutions, and corresponds to state-of-the-art distance education. It is adapted to students of various backgrounds and gives a broad foundation of basic knowledge plus some advanced courses in certain specialization areas. The study program is flexible, and changes or improvements in course structure and contents will constantly occur. Each course is run independently by one of the participating universities and may differ completely in registration procedures, online teaching tools, exam arrangements, etc.
The application process is explained under "Application Procedure".
